  • The American racing driver Carroll Shelby is known for his strokes of genius, whether in motor racing (Le Mans 1959 or 1966) or for his car designs. The story begins with a crazy idea: to graft an American V8 onto a small English car. Shelby joined forces with an English manufacturer, AC. The Cobra was born in 1962. Several versions followed, including the celebrated 427 with a 7-litre “Big Block” 427 engine developing 420hp! Only 350 official examples exist in the world, so you’re more likely to spot a copy than a real AC Cobra 427!
